High above the sleepy town, the Man in the Moon leaned back in his soft silver chair and yawned a wide, golden yawn.

One by one, he counted the little lights below the lamp in the baker’s window, the candle by the river, the last firefly blinking in the tall grass and one by one, he wished them goodnight.

“Goodnight, little lamp,” he whispered, and the lamp grew soft and low.

“Goodnight, little candle,” he hummed, and the candle curled into a warm, round glow.

“Goodnight, little firefly,” he smiled, and the firefly tucked its light beneath its wing.

Then the Man in the Moon looked down at all the children, snug in their beds like seeds in a garden waiting for morning. He pulled a blanket of stars up over the hills, smoothed the edges of the night, and let the world go quiet and kind.

“And goodnight to you,” he said softly, to no one and to everyone. “The night is here to hold you. I’ll keep the light on until the sun comes home.”

And the moon glowed on, gentle and sure, all through the sleeping night.

What is Gramms?

How does it work?
Tell Gramms your child's name and what tonight's story should be about. A few minutes later they are the hero of it, read aloud in a warm voice, with a cover drawn for that story.

Can it really read in a grandparent's voice?
Yes. A grandparent, a parent, an aunt or anyone else can record themselves reading a short passage, and Gramms uses that to make a private reading voice. It reads only your child's stories, it must be a grown-up's voice, and you can remove it at any time.

Is it safe for children?
Every story idea is screened before a story is written, and stories are made to be calm and age-appropriate for bedtime. If one ever misses, you can hand it back to us from inside the app and a person reads every report.

Isn't this just more AI? I want less screen and less AI in our home, not more.
That's a fair instinct, and it's worth answering directly rather than sidestepping. The words in a Gramms story are AI-written, and we don't pretend otherwise. What isn't AI is the voice: once a grandparent or parent records theirs, every story after that is read aloud by them, in their real voice, not a synthetic narrator standing in for one. A machine writes the words so a real person's voice is what your child actually hears, every night, even when that person lives states away. If what you're looking for is zero AI anywhere in your child's routine, Gramms probably isn't the right fit, and that's a reasonable place to land.

What ages is Gramms for?
Gramms is designed for children ages 3 to 10, and the story adapts to your child's age.

How much does it cost?
Three new stories a week are free, with no card required. Gramms Premium lifts the weekly limit and costs $5.99 a month or $49.99 a year, each after a free week. Stories you have already made always play, at no cost.

What happens to my child's information?
We never sell your family's information and we never use it for advertising. To write a story, Gramms sends your child's first name, their age and your story idea to OpenAI, who writes the words and reads them aloud. If you bring a loved one's voice, that recording goes to OpenAI to check a grown-up made it, then to Cartesia, who makes the reading voice. Nothing reaches Cartesia unless you choose to add a voice. Our Privacy Policy sets out the whole picture.
